Events in Northampton started with a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. The parade stepped off from the Lia Honda Northampton parking lot, 293 King St., at approximately 11 a.m. and proceeded on King and Main streets to Pulaski Park.
At the ceremony there, Stas Rodosz, the parade marshal, laid a wreath at the Pulaski memorial, and Northampton Mayor David J. Narkewicz, state Sen. Stanley C. Rosenberg, D-Amherst, and state Rep. Peter Kocot, D-Northampton, spoke. Suzanne Strempek Shea, a Bondsville author who has written novels, memoirs, and freelanced for newspapers and magazines, delivered the featured address.
