PARENTS
The Religious Education program for all grades Pre-School through grade 8 will be starting at the Youth Center in Florence. The Pre-School through grade 8 classes will begin after the 9:30 AM Children’s Mass at the Annunciation Chapel. Sunday evening classes begin at 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM for grades 9, 10, and 11.
A FEW REMINDERS AND UPDATES:
Drop Off and Pick Up for the children in grades Pre-School through Grade 8 will be at the Main Door of the Youth Center. The Parking lot is quite busy at this time so traffic cones will be used to usher the children into the building in a safe way and to keep the cars from parking or entering there.
Drop Off and Pick Up for students in grades 9, 10, and 11, will only be from the main entrance of the Youth Center.
Pre-School, Kindergarten, and Grade 1 will meet in the library, which is the large room on the left at the top of the stairs.
Grades, 2, 3, 4&5, will be in the upstairs classrooms. Mrs. Babula will be teaching grade2, she will be preparing our students for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion. Our Pius X winner Maria McKinney will be teaching grades 4 and 5 their Ten Commandments.
All students will have a Confirmation Candidate to usher them into the building and into their individual classrooms. Grades 6, 7, and 8 will be in the first classroom on the right, as this is now the Confirmation I Program. It is essential that all students attend. You may have 3 excused absences. Beyond that, you will have to meet with Father Kingsley, for him to determine if you will fit the criteria for receiving instruction in Confirmation II.
Lastly, as policy, no food or drinks will be allowed in the classrooms, unless it is a special occasion (i.e., Christmas Party), and you have been notified beforehand, and have given written permission. Many children have food allergies, and we need to be aware of any food or drinks being offered to your child in advance. Make sure, on the registration form that you fill in the space to inform the Religious Education Office of any allergies, in that way, I will pass on all pertinent information to your child’s teacher.
STUDENT LECTORS/ALTAR SERVERS
Any student who has made their First Holy Communion is eligible to be trained to be altar servers, male or female. Please contact me in the Office to sign up for training.
We will also be having training for any candidate grade 6 and older to become a Lector. Consider these two ministries as a way to volunteer as they are ideal ways in which to perform service hours for the year.
Service Hours will be performed by all grades this year, and they will be grade appropriate.
We are looking forward to seeing your children once again, and we want them to know how much we want to share with them, teach them, nurture them, and show them the Love of Our Lord. Please feel free to reach out to me, at maureen@saintelizabethannseton.net or by phone at (413)584-7310 EXT. 109.
