Funeral rites

The long-standing cemetery tradition of the Catholic church flows from these tenets of our faith:

  • The dignity of each human being

  • The importance of Baptism into the faith

  • The reality of the resurrection of Jesus Christ

  • The promise of Jesus that one day we will share eternal life

  • The celebration of the Eucharist as the great act of thanksgiving for redemption

To make funeral arrangements, please contact the Parish Office.

Plots

Burial plots are offered in various sizes. Cremation plots are also available.

Veterans Green

Veterans Green, located at the west end of Saint Mary Cemetery, is a special area dedicated to both living and deceased American veterans. In 2011, a monument to those who died in service to their country during World War II was moved to this site from the grounds of the former Saint John Cantius Church in Northampton. Highlighted by an American flag, Veterans Green features: six granite markers that recognize the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marines; a cross-shaped walkway of 399 bluestone pavers honoring individual veterans; and two memorial benches for prayer and contemplation. Every Memorial Day, the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton parish community celebrates a Mass at Veterans Green.
